As you know, a free drinking water distribution center was started at the CBS complex in Gowliguda under the aegis of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organistions, Koti Samithi, Hyderabad, with the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. To commemorate the Aradhana Day of Mathrusri Eswaramma, buttermilk was distributed along with drinking water today, the 6th of May 2025.
Initially, Sri Niranjan offered flowers and garlands to the portrait of Mathrusri Eswaramma. Subsequently, the convener, Sri P Visweswara Sastri, lit the lamp, and the program commenced with Vedic chanting and bhajans.
The convener, Sri Visweswara Sastry, while remembering Mathrusri Eswaramma on this day, spoke about her, stating, "To practically demonstrate the Vedic saying 'Mathru Devo Bhava' (Mother is God), Swami has been observing the 6th of May as Mathrusri Srimati Eswaramma Day. Considering Eswaramma's immense love for children, Swami also directed that her death anniversary be celebrated as Children's Day."
He further added, "Today is the day to contemplate how great those noble mothers were who have given birth to divine incarnations age after age in this world. What is the inner meaning of celebrating Mother's Day today? It is to inspire everyone to become such mothers." He also mentioned Swami's words about observing this day as Children's Day, emphasizing that it is a day for children to understand how to express their love and affection towards their parents and satisfy them.
Speaking about the three wishes that Eswaramma Garu asked of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, he elaborated on how, considering the circumstances of those times, a maternity hospital for women, a small school for children, and a small well were established. He highlighted how these initiatives have transformed today, with the hospital evolving into a super-specialty hospital serving thousands, the small well becoming the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Project benefiting over 700 villages, and the small school growing into an institution providing free education from KG to PG. He also mentioned the establishment of a separate Women's University in Anantapur, inaugurated by the then President of India, Sri V.V. Giri. He pointed out that one would not find any billing counters at the Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialty Hospital, emphasizing that all services are free.
