REPORT ON SEVADAL SADHANA WORKSHOP
With the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Varu, a Sevadal Sadhana Workshop was organised by Koti Samithi, Hyderabad, on Sunday, 23rd August 2026, with the participation of nearly 30 Sevadal members and Sadhakas.
The programme commenced with Vedam and Bhajans, rendered melodiously and devotionally. Sri Rajesh accompanied the Bhajans on the Keyboard, while his two sons accompanied on Pads and Dolak.
The Convenor of Koti Samithi, Sri P. V. Sastry, welcomed the Sevadal members and the representatives from Sivam, Sri Rajendra and Sri Shyam Sundar. The dignitaries and representatives jointly lighted the sacred lamp.
At the beginning of the Sadhana session, the Convenor offered prayers to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and distributed printed copies of three important discourses to all the Sadhakas for detailed reading and discussion.
THE THREE DISCOURSES
- సంస్థ యొక్క హృదయం (ప్రశాంతి నిలయం)Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Divine Discourse – 21 November 1968
- బ్యాడ్జి – సాధనకి పిలుపు
- సత్యసాయి సేవBhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Divine Discourse – 21 April 1967
The Sadhakas were divided into different groups. Each group carefully read the allotted discourse, noted the important points and discussed their understanding. One Sadhaka from each group explained the gist of the relevant portion to the other members.
The representatives from Sivam also participated in the discussions and elaborated on the deeper meaning and practical significance of the important teachings given by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
1. సంస్థ యొక్క హృదయం (ప్రశాంతి నిలయం)
The important points discussed from Bhagawan's Divine Discourse of 21 November 1968 included:
- The main purpose of all spiritual and service activities is to purify our minds.
- Meditation, discourses, Bhajans, worship and service are all means for purification of the mind.
- We should remove negative qualities such as ego, greed, hatred, jealousy and excessive desires.
- The most important quality to cultivate is love for one another.
- The true identity of a Sai devotee is his love and spirit of service.
- Through service, the love within us is expressed towards others.
- We should serve the poor, underprivileged and those who are in need and unable to help themselves.
- Service should be rendered without expecting anything in return, with the awareness that God is present in everyone.
- With the awareness that the same Divine is present in all, every person should be served with love, reverence and humility.
- The true goal of a Sai Organisation is spiritual growth through love, selfless service and purification of the mind.
2. బ్యాడ్జి – సాధనకి పిలుపు
The second topic emphasised the deeper spiritual significance of the Sevadal Badge:
- The badge is not a symbol of authority or privilege. It represents the responsibility to welcome and serve devotees.
- A Sevadal member should never consider himself superior to the person receiving service.
- Service should be performed with humility, discipline and a spirit of surrender.
- The person who serves and the person who receives the service are both manifestations of the same Divine.
- The badge should be regarded as a call to spiritual practice, marking the beginning of a spiritual journey.
- Through Sadhana, one should understand the deeper meaning behind every action and develop discipline and good habits.
- The ultimate objective is to progress from the human to the Divine through love, service and spiritual practice.
3. సత్యసాయి సేవ – 21 April 1967
The third discourse highlighted the importance of Vedic wisdom, spiritual knowledge and the role of Seva Organisations.
The important points discussed were:
- The Vedas were inspired by the Grace of God and provide humanity with knowledge for a happy life and eternal liberation.
- The Vedas are treasures of spiritual wisdom, revealing the ultimate truth of Divine Glory.
- Vedic and spiritual knowledge are gifts of God, helping humanity distinguish between good and evil and preserve Indian culture.
- By deeply understanding Vedic wisdom, the Atmic Principle becomes clear, leading to contentment and supreme peace.
- Although Vedic knowledge was neglected for some time, devotion and repentance are gradually reappearing among people.
- The gathering of devotees is a sign of spiritual revival, and Seva Organisations have the responsibility of spreading the message of the unity and power of the Atma.
- The ultimate purpose of human life is to rise from the human level to the Divine and experience Divine Bliss.
- The main purpose of the Organisation is to spread the universal and practical teaching of discovering the Divinity within every human being.
- India has a special spiritual heritage and has been described as the eye of the world, possessing spiritual vision to perceive the universe in its proper perspective.
- Every Indian should learn and practise the spiritual wisdom taught by the sages and saints and help preserve Indian culture.
ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF SADHAKAS
Only a few important points from the three discourses were taken up during the workshop. However, it was emphasised that these discourses are valuable for every Sai devotee—both senior devotees and youth.
Nearly 30 members from Koti Samithi participated in the Sadhana Workshop. The Sadhakas actively took part in reading, group discussions, sharing their understanding and explaining the practical significance of Bhagawan's teachings.
The workshop provided an opportunity for the Sevadal members to understand that Seva is not merely an activity, but an important spiritual Sadhana for self-transformation.
CONCLUSION
The Convenor, Sri P. V. Sastry, concluded the programme by expressing his gratitude to the representatives of Sivam, Sri Rajendra and Sri Shyam Sundar, for conducting and guiding the Sadhana Workshop.
He also conveyed his appreciation to the Hyderabad District team for participating in the programme and appreciating the activities undertaken by Koti Samithi.
During the discussions, reference was also made to Bhagawan's teaching that Samithis should not undertake activities beyond their capacity or spend large amounts unnecessarily. At this juncture, the Hyderabad District President clarified that Koti Samithi has been undertaking essential service activities according to its available strength and resources.
The programme concluded on a devotional note. Sri Rajesh, the well-known Keyboard player, offered Haarathi to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Varu.
The entire workshop was conducted in a spirit of love, humility, discipline, selfless service and spiritual Sadhana, reinforcing Bhagawan's message:
We sincerely request the Dilsukhnagar, Kacheguda, Khairatabad, and Koti Samithi conveners to kindly share the venue details by today so that we can inform our district team and enable them to plan and coordinate accordingly.
