నగర సంకీర్తన అంటే ఉదయం బ్రహ్మ ముహూర్తంలో, భక్తులు కలిసి, భగవాన్ నామ స్మరణ చేస్తూ,వీధులలో భజనలు పాడటం. ఈ నగర సంకీర్తన వల్ల,మనసు పవిత్రమవుతుంది. భగవన్నామము మనలోని చెడు ఆలోచనలను తొలగిస్తుంది. పరిసరాలు శుద్ధి అవుతాయి. దైవ నామ ధ్వని,సాత్విక వాతావరణాన్ని సృష్టిస్తుంది. సమాజంలో ఐక్యత పెరుగుతుంది. అందరూ కలిసి భజనలు చేయడం వల్ల ప్రేమ, సోదర భావం పెరుగుతాయి. రోజంతా ఆధ్యాత్మిక చైతన్యం ఉంటుంది. ఉదయం దైవస్మరణతో ప్రారంభించిన రోజు ప్రశాంతంగా సాగుతుంది. దైవానుగ్రహం లభిస్తుంది. నామస్మరణ కలియుగంలో, అత్యంత సులభమైన సాధనమని బాబా చెప్పారు. సత్య సాయి బాబా తరచూ చెప్పిన భావం : నగర సంకీర్తనలో మీరు వీధులను మేల్కొల్పడం కాదు. మీ హృదయంలోని దైవత్వాన్ని మేలుకొలుపుతున్నారు. నగర సంకీర్తన లో పాల్గొనడం ద్వారా వ్యక్తిగత శాంతి, కుటుంబ శ్రేయస్సు, తప్పకుండా కలుగుతాయి కలుగును అని స్వామి వారు అన్న మాటలను వివరంచి, గణేష్, గురు, మాత, భజనలు మరియు అనేక భజనలతో కొనసాగినది. చివరగా శ్రీ శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి స్వామి వారికీ మంగళహారతి సమర్పణతో, పాల్గొన్న ప్రతిఒక్కరు అందరు సంతోషించినారు.

By the Divine Grace and Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Nagara Sankeerthana programme was conducted with great devotion and spiritual fervour on the morning of 25th June 2026 in the streets of Osman Gunj.
The programme commenced during the sacred Brahma Muhurta at the Sri Sathya Sai Skill Development Training Centre (Tailoring Unit), Osman Gunj. The early morning atmosphere was calm, cool, and refreshing. A gentle breeze filled the surroundings, creating a serene and peaceful environment conducive to prayer and contemplation. The quiet streets, coupled with the divine vibrations of sacred chanting, elevated the minds of all participants towards spirituality.
The programme began with the chanting of 21 Omkarams, followed by Suprabhatam and Veda Parayanam. Thereafter, the Convener explained the significance and importance of Nagara Sankeerthana.
He stated that Nagara Sankeerthana is the practice of devotees coming together during the early hours of the morning and singing devotional songs while walking through the streets, chanting the Divine Name. This sacred activity purifies the mind, removes negative thoughts, and sanctifies the environment. The vibrations generated by the chanting of God's Name create a pure and sattwic atmosphere, promoting harmony, love, and unity among people. Beginning the day with Divine remembrance fills the entire day with spiritual awareness, peace, and positivity. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba often emphasized that Nama Smarana (remembrance of the Divine Name) is the easiest and most effective spiritual practice in this Kali Yuga.
The Convener also recalled Bhagawan's profound message:
"In Nagara Sankeerthana, you are not merely awakening the streets; you are awakening the Divinity within your own hearts."
He further explained that participation in Nagara Sankeerthana brings personal peace, family welfare, and Divine Grace.
The programme then continued with melodious bhajans dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Guru, Divine Mother, and several other devotional songs. The sweet and soulful rendering of the bhajans resonated through the quiet morning air, filling the surroundings with divine vibrations and inspiring devotion in all who listened. The rhythmic singing and collective chanting created an atmosphere of joy, peace, and spiritual upliftment.
The programme concluded with Mangala Arathi offered by Sri Srinivas Reddy to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. All the participants expressed their happiness and satisfaction at being part of the sacred programme.

All the participants enthusiastically expressed their desire to bring their friends and join the Nagara Sankeerthana again on the coming Thursday.
